Salah satu cara yang mungkin bisa dicoba dalam mendorong siswa untuk menyukai bahasa inggris adalah dengan memperkenalkan puisi (poem/poetry),pertanyaan yang mungkin timbul di benak kita diantaranya mungkin (seperti yang disuntingan bahan mata kuliah poetri )berikutini :
1.why use poetry to learn english?
First answer is; why not? poetry is special type of english, just as scientifict or newspaper english are also special-in different ways. It deserves study as much as they do,perhaps more since poetry is the type of the english wich touches our personal feelings most closely.And personal feelings as important in a foreign language as they are in our language.
Scound answer is; Poetry can also help us to assimilate the typical rhytms of a language.
The third answer is; poems are often very easy to remember. They stick in our mind without conscious effort. One reason for this is that they frequently repeat pattern of sound or word.
Finally the topics which poems talk about are in themselves interesting -and important. When we are learning a foreign language as an adult we need to have significant things to think and talk about .They give us something worthwile to discuss.

Out of the language tree
The leaves float down
Whirling they criss and cross
Writing new pattern on the gound
Slowly coding this year's message
Below, the wadded strata
From past years
Distil and mature old meaning
And down among the roots
Half-forgotten,skeletal memories
Muted by the loam
Stir in their sleep
Mutter and moan
And way above, twig ends
Bud within bud, dream
Of meanings for next year
And the next, an the next
Every year the same tree
Roughly the same shape and size
and every year a subtel
Change of size and shape
a small surprise
a limited escape
